The role will be based between Great Wall Motor’s Baoding and Shanghai offices. GWM’s engineering activities are based mainly in Baoding, but there is a satellite office in Shanghai (Anting) where this role will be stationed. There will be frequent travel to the Baoding office and also to suppliers in China and Europe, as well as travel for environmental test trips in China/Worldwide. The first 3‐months will be based mainly in Baoding, and then moving to Shanghai upon successful completion of probation period.

 Develop the transmission calibration features within Clutch Control calibration of a dual clutch transmission for all hybrid powertrains, such as:
− P4 High voltage PHEV (Plug‐in hybrid electric vehicle)
− P4 48v HEV (hybrid electric vehicle)
− 48v BSG MHEV (mild hybrid electric vehicle)
 Responsible person for all clutch control activities comprising mainly for vehicle launch characteristics, shift quality, clutch‐ slip engine start control, in accordance with the Chinese market requirements.
 Work with project leader and external suppliers to create Software Change Requests for continued improvement of the clutch control software.
 Weekly reporting to Senior Management on status of calibration.
 Responsible for the activities and the results of the clutch control section.
 Developing of the technical skills of the clutch control calibration section (supporting and mentoring less experienced team members).
 Defining and Developing calibration and development processes.
 Independent planning and performing of vehicle and test rig tests.
 Independent evaluation of measurements and test results.
 Planning & travel for hot, altitude, cold and hill related calibration and testing trips at various locations around China and worldwide.
 Supporting software development team with specification and testing of new software features.
 Resolve calibration concerns and customer complaints in the market.
 Evaluation & benchmarking of different vehicles.

 Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required, Masters degree preferred
 3 ‐ 10 years of experience in transmission clutch control or hybrid powertrain calibration. Preferred: Dual‐clutch transmissions with a hybrid powertrain, including clutch slip start functionality.
 3 ‐ 10 years of experience with vehicle calibration tools,
 Excellent driving skills
 Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
 Excellent time management skills, able to multi‐task, prioritize, make timely decisions and
detail oriented
 Ability to work independently and travel for business trips.
 Ability to train and lead young engineers
 International experience preferred
 Fluent English and/or Chinese. Being able to read business German is also preferable, but
not necessary.
