The role will be based between Great Wall Motor’s Baoding and Shanghai offices. GWM’s engineering activities are based mainly in Baoding, but there is a satellite office in Shanghai (Anting) where this role will be stationed. There will be frequent travel to the Baoding office and also to suppliers in China and Europe, as well as travel for environmental test trips in China/Worldwide. The first 3‐months will be based mainly in Baoding, and then moving to Shanghai upon successful completion of probation period.

 Develop and plan the transmission software functionality requirements for a dual clutch transmission for all hybrid powertrains, such as:
− P4 High voltage PHEV (Plug‐in hybrid electric vehicle)
− P4 48v HEV (hybrid electric vehicle)
− 48v BSG MHEV (mild hybrid electric vehicle)
 Responsible person for managing requirements writing to ensure GWM has a well defined software functionality to meet the requirements of the Chinese market.
 Work with GWM management, project leader & calibration team to provide clear software functionality expectation to external suppliers for continued improvement of the transmission control software, for hybrid application.
 Work with other departments (i.e. vehicle department, Hybrid department & Engine department) to help define transmission software functionality and direction for the future.
 Weekly reporting to Senior Management on status of calibration.
 Responsible for the activities and the results of the clutch control section.
 Developing of the technical skills of the transmission systems section (supporting and mentoring less experienced team members).
 Defining and Developing system requirements capture processes, and how it feeds into software & calibration development. .
 Supporting software development team with specification of new software features.
 Evaluation & benchmarking of different vehicles.

 Bachelor’s Degree in Systems, Automotive, Electrical or Mechanical
Engineering required, Masters degree preferred
 3 ‐ 10 years of experience in Transmission and/or Hybrid Systems. Preferred:
Dual‐clutch transmissions
 3 ‐ 10 years of experience with systems requirement capture tools (e.g. IBM
 Excellent & clear requirement writing skills.
 Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
 Excellent time management skills, able to multi‐task, prioritize, make timely
decisions and detail oriented
 Ability to work independently and occasional travel for business trips.
 Ability to train and lead young engineers
 International experience preferred
 Fluent English is important. Also fluent in Chinese would be a massive benefit
working with different departments.
