My customer has manufactured exterior lighting and signaling systems for major automotive manufacturers for almost 25 years! The Seymour, Indiana facility encompasses more than half a million square feet, and the company operates a manufacturing facility in Queretaro, Mexico and a sales office in Dearborn, Michigan. Leading automotive manufacturers rely on my client for innovative exterior lighting and signaling systems. 1 out of 4 vehicles produced in the world carry my client’s products.  Currently, my client has a need for a Methods/Process Injection Engineer to work in its lighting programs based in Hamilton, Ohio.  As an Engineer for this prestigious company some of your responsibilities will include:

Mission
  • Lead daily operation of his/her perimeter in molding APU such as continuous improvement, mold setting & debugging, start-up, processing, troubleshooting and problem solving in respect to the objectives assigned by the APU Manager. Spend most of time on the shop floor.
  • Lead Industrial project such as implementation of new machine, equipment, automation and layout.
Responsibilities
General:
  • Maintain quality standards on all products to ensure manufacturing with zero defect methodology including process documentation required.
  • Responsible for plastic part manufacturing according to the specifications in order to meet the requirement of quality, cost and delivery time for the site.
  • Provide support on new product launch tooling and process at each milestone through production, providing the manufacturing and engineering inputs for development of new process, parts and tooling.
  • Lead the process design and approval according to the client standards & procedures.
  • Identify lean & continuous improvement to existing process and tooling related to current product lines with regard to the cost, quality, and/or design.
  • Involve in a global coordination to improve and define standards. Identify and investigate potential new tooling concepts and processes.
Essential:
  • Identify lean continuous improvement on cycle time times, change over, scraps, quality, material cost reduction to existing process related to current product lines with regards to the cost, quality, design.
  • Lead daily continuous improvement activities on shop floor (quality failure analysis, cycle time, change over, layout, reduction of defects and reduction of downtime...) s Kaizen card.
  • Set-up machine for production on Mono and bi injection molding machines. Operate overhead crane
  • Define and optimize molding process window, apply SPC auto quality with standard tolerances.
  • Develop and modify robot programs to handle parts without causing damage to the equipment, parts.
  • Working from sample parts or instruction, set up and operate standard or specialized machine tools and accessory control devices to make a wide variety of parts.
  • Support mold and robot EOAT design approval.
  • Support new tool debugging and validation to ensure reliable and robust production processes.
  • Perform periodically the Cmk analysis on injection molding machines.
  • Observe equipment and materials in process to determine or analyze cause of machine malfunctions; repair and/or make necessary adjustments to equipment to obtain desired operating results.
  • Involved in a site coordination to share and define standards. Identify and investigate potential new tooling concepts and processes.
  • Provide technical support in preventive maintenance and periodic checks on assigned equipment as instructed. Move or assist to move any equipment as directed.
Qualifications
 
Education/Training
  • Engineer degree or advanced technician in plastic engineering or automation
Professional Experience
  • 5 years in injection molding in technical automotive parts
or
  • 5 years in Mold design engineering in technical automotive parts
