My customer has manufactured exterior lighting and signaling systems for major automotive manufacturers for almost 25 years! Committed to continuous quality improvement, my client has earned QS-9000 and ISO-14001 certificates of approval. Now, almost 25 years and numerous industry firsts later, the company is an established industry leader, employing over 1,000 people. The Seymour, Indiana facility encompasses more than half a million square feet, and the company operates a manufacturing facility in Queretaro, Mexico and a sales office in Dearborn, Michigan. Leading automotive manufacturers rely on my client for innovative exterior lighting and signaling systems. 1 out of 4 vehicles produced in the world carry my client’s products.  Currently, my client has a need for Supplier Quality Engineer based in southern Indiana.  As an SQE for this prestigious company some of your responsibilities will include:

Job Summary:

Application of client Standards with external suppliers. Validation of new supplier components and materials on time vs. project milestones. Provide technical expertise for problem solving / incidents created by suppliers.  
Job Responsibilities:

Use Client Supplier Relationship Management software for all the project components. Respect strictly the Policies and Procedures in the client SQM (Supplier Quality Manual). Raise all technical issues encountered by the suppliers requiring a modification of the drawing, specification or supplier contract. Validate Corrective Actions for incidents created by a supplier (in assigned region of operation). Perform New Supplier and New Component Process Audits. Validate Controlled Shipping requested to a supplier by a client site (in assigned region of operation). Support Group Segment SQA Leader in the preparation of the Top Worst Suppliers meetings when supplier improvement is required. Responsible for the key indicators (in assigned region of operation): Initial Samples (PPAP) approved on time vs. initial project time-line, Red Launches along the probationary period (Stage 6), Supplier Incidents for components in production, Incidents recurrence.

Required Minimum Experience:
2 - 3 years related experience in the manufacturing industry.
Education, Knowledge, Skills Required:

The ability to travel extensively to customer sites up to 50%

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field required. Theoretical and practical experience of audits. Wide industry/commodity exposure. Theoretical knowledge and practical experience of quality tools common in the automotive industry (FMEA, PDA, PDCA). Good communication skills are essential.
