Primary Function We are looking for a Sr. Project Engineer – New Product Development (Heat Pump) to join our team that will be located at our Heat Pump Engineering Center of Excellence in Lebanon, Tennessee. What is unique about this role?
Work on latest technologies and develop heat pump water heater
The ability to own Engineering projects from concept to manufacturing
We have support throughout the Engineering process with our Simulation team, CAD Design team, and Lab Tech team

Responsibilities
Manages all aspects of a complex and significant engineering project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget.
Applies engineering standards/procedures and provides advice on challenges within the engineering field.
Ability to balance/ prioritize and handle multiple projects when needed
Be a great team player and effective in accomplishing group tasks and brainstorming activities
Effectively communicate technical material to internal business units and other cross functions.
Provide detailed test programs/plans and guidance to assigned Lab and CAD personnel.
Conductance, documentation, and evaluation of product specific tests
Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, agency requirements and customer needs/expectations
Coordinate activities to efficiently resolve technical developments, rescheduling issues, and engineering design and test problems as they arise.
Request /evaluate and approve product design changes, specifications, and drawing releases through PCP (Product changes processes in SAP system)
Interact with other Engineering Staff to provide input regarding areas of your expertise.
Prepare project expense estimates and control expenditures within the limitations of the project budget.
Supports field service engineering, respond to field questions, and incorporate improvement in future products
Conduct yourself professionally in accordance with company values
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 5 years of experience (OR) Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 3 years of experience (OR) Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering
3+ years of Refrigerant Cycle experience dealing with HVAC air conditioning systems and/or heat pumps.
Detailed understanding of HVAC system functions including refrigeration, heat transfer, airflow, and ventilation
Experience with application of various components used within HVAC systems such as evaporator coils, compressors, condensers, and fans.
Air conditioning and/or Heat Pump design and hands on testing experience.
Experience with Design/simulation/analysis tools such as Solidworks, LabVIEW, EES, CFD, FEA and ERP software (SAP or similar).
Excellent analytical skills for reviewing costs and preparing budget reports
Great communication and organizational skills.
Ability to travel 10 - 15% for product testing at other sites, review of field installations, and to attend meetings with other internal Engineering teams.
