My client has six of its own production facilities on three continents and over 50 years of experience, my client is dedicated to the creation of innovative solutions that meet the needs of modern mobility through the creation of automotive gears and parts. OEMs and First Tier Suppliers all over the world trust in their customized components and systems for automotive applications. They have the capabilities to partner with their customers at every project stage; from design, engineering and prototyping through testing and validation to series production and stock management. Currently, our client is looking to employ a Purchasing/Buyer based out of Philipsburg, PA.
As a Buyer some of the requirements for this role include:
Interact with engineering and maintenance on needed supplies, delivery status etc.
Maintain organization and compliance of supplier files
Assist with communication and pricing negotiations with suppliers
Update SAP data using sound purchasing principles for the following activities: Owns all indirect MRO purchases in SAP
MRO material master setup: maintain/update MRO material master as needed
MRO info records setup: maintain/update MRO info records as needed
1. run and process the planned order (anything falling below safety stock)
2. new supplier setup
3. scheduling agreement setup and maintenance
4. scrutinize & process purchase requisitions
5. accounts payable reconciliation
6. ship/rec reconciliation
7. coordinates, along with ship/rec, return to vendor
Complete and report various savings reports, and projects as requested.
Monitor and notify Department Manager when risk is present in contract terms with suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from stakeholders and colleagues.
Educational Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in business or Purchasing or equivalent experience.
Experience Requirements:
3-5 years' experience in purchasing within a manufacturing setting
Working knowledge and skills within Microsoft Office suites (outlook, word, excel), TEAMS Working knowledge of ERP Systems (SAP specifically).
Reading and working with various engineering drawings.
Strong Supplier negotiation skills for Indirect Purchasing silos.
Project management and meeting timelines will be necessary for this role.
Plan, support, and drive cost reduction projects regarding the supply of material and services to ensure cost reduction targets are met
Negotiate various contracts, both short-term and long-term from beginning to execution for
client taking into consideration risk, longevity, and future impact to clients business
Assist and support day to day MRO operations (receiving, inventory, vending, consignment)
Ensure that purchasing policies and processes are used to achieve business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market
Complete and review cost savings reports, and projects as requested by management
Plan monitor, and review opportunities to implement efficient and best practice purchasing policies processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance
